memories, dreams, and reflections 2011.

picture of yourself (you don't have to show your face). What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011?
hey there! it's me again. i really like being me. sometimes, i take weird selfies (note above). sometimes, i'm pretty normal. 2011 was really fun. going out, i'm extremely proud of myself. for one thing in particular. august was rough.  i got cut from the soccer team. i had worked all summer for it. i wanted it so bad. and then i just didn't get it. just like that. so i could have sat at home all fall sulking and bitter. but i didn't. i joined the cross country team. this was my best decision of 2011 for multiple reasons. first off, it ended up meaning a lot to me. i craved improvement. so i worked hard to beat my own times every week, and you know what, i did. i made new friends, and grew closer to old friends. we became like a family, our little team. and i learned that everything happens for a reason. i love this reason. i'm really really proud of myself.

picture of your husband, boyfriend, children, pets, etc.
because i'm not married, don't have a boyfriend, and obviously don't have children, i'm showing you this lovely picture of my four-legged best friend, riley. i love her to death, and i love this picture and yeah. that's about it.
a moment you're still laughing about now...tell us a story.
yikes, i can't believe i included this picture. but it has to be included. we're teenagers, we take crazy pictures. but this one, don't i look photoshopped right in? whether you think i do or not, we did, and rolled around laughing about it for a good while. i still look at it and think it's pretty funny. yes, i'm still laughing at my own extreme weirdness.

a picture that reflects Winter.

share a birthday picture (your own or someone you love).
thank you for an amazing birthday this year. thank you to my friends who made it unforgettable. and of course, thank you to my mom who pulled the entire thing together to make it perfect and  for getting this incredible cake!

a picture with friends (this could be your friends or your children with their friends).
after an entire post of photobooth shots, i'll spare you. this picture takes me straight back to martha's vineyard after a classic summer day. that's exactly why i love it. it brings me right back.

could be a picture of your inspiration (person or thing), or inspired by...
lindsay at aisle to aloha inspired me to open an etsy store. well, actually, a lot of people/stores/things things inspired me to do it. but lindsay's store is gorgeous, and her blog is perfection so i'm crediting her. and it's not even open yet. it's kind of still just an idea up in my head. but all great things come from ideas. stay tuned.
a picture that reflects Spring.

a picture taken on vacation or on a recent travel experience...even if it was only a few miles away.
one word; paris. as you may know, the two days i spent there were absolutely amazing. i'll never forget it, and this shot was a no brainer for the category. actually, that's a lie because i didn't know this photo existed until i went through my files looking for one for this post. well, to say the least, i'm so glad i found it. i miss paris.

a picture that reflects Summer.

a picture of a typical day in your life.
i haven't the slightest idea of how to depict my life in one picture. it's sometimes like a picture with 275421 other pictures overlaid onto it; busybusybusy, or sometimes it's a bokeh shot; just a blur. so i found this picture that i really like, and i'm going to use it. i hope you're not mad.
a picture that makes you smile or of smiling faces.
luke, i miss your smiling face. try not to live so far away, okay?
a picture that reflects Autumn/Fall.

a picture that reflects a celebration.
a picture of something you'd like to do again soon.
so i guess it's not really possible to do this again soon because the speak now tour is over, but can i go see taylor swift again with my best friend? that was really fun. i'd do it again in a heartbeat. and making this shadowbox was fun too, i'd do that again without much hesitation.

a picture of someone or something you really miss.

a picture of someone or something you find beautiful.
this is one of my best friends. she's beautiful. "you're beautiful, every little piece love. and don't you know, you're really gonna be someone, ask anyone." -stay beautiful (taylor swift)

this might be a picture from Halloween or not...but someone who is all dressed up!

share your favorite macro or close-up image.

a picture from the Holiday of your choice.

share your favorite picture or memory from 2011.
i had a ridiculous amount of photos to choose from to pick my favorite. i remembered this one. it's kind of a combination of my favorite photo and memory. i love everything about the shot, and i never want to forget this day or any of the 18 days i spent in south africa. spending that time with my family is definitely my favorite memory from 2011.
something you love about yourself, someone, or something that you never want to change.
i love who i am. i love that i believe in love stories, am optimistic 99% of the time, and that smiles come so easily. i love that i think this is the cutest photo i took all year and i love daydreaming that this could be me one day. i love that i can laugh at my own mistakes, and give advice to my best friends. it's not that i don't ever want to change, because i do. i don't want to stop learning here, and continue on with only what i know at age sixteen, so in that aspect i want to change. but i never want to change so much that when i look back at myself, i've lost that sixteen year old hopeless romantic. i never ever want to lose that.

share any picture(s) that you really want to share, but doesn't fit in any other category.

share what you hope to come or dream for 2012. Feel free to share an image of your choice.
in 2012, i want to stay the same and change, all at the same time. i want to improve, i crave improvement, in track and next fall's cross season. i want to work harder for better times, and just keep beating myself. at the same time, i don't want to lose myself. i haven't for the past sixteen years, so i think i'll be good. i want to work harder on my photography, shoot more people, and feel more confident shooting in manual. in 2012, i want to have fun.
