not your average fall.

so it snowed the other day. and i don't mean like a dusting. i mean full on noreaster. the power went out around 10:30 on saturday night, and we woke up cold and buried in 8 inches of snow.
yes, i do mean buried. multiple trees broke, one even fell on our house. no damage though, thankfully.
school was cancelled monday because the majority of town, including the school didn't have power. it got down to about 50 degrees in my house without heat. we thawed next to the fire and stayed outside because, ironically, it was warmer out there.
we got power back at 8:41 on monday night. i had taken refuge at my friend's house who had heat, but went home to a warm house. finally. school was cancelled tuesday too because they still didn't have power. now that's a great start to my birthday week.

why, hello there.

  oh hey there october. i really love you. you know why? because you're perfect. and they say nothing's perfect but i really truly think that you are. because i can wear riding boots and cardigans every day. and you smell like crisp air, cinnamon, pumpkins, and rain.
 and you're beautiful. your true colors really shine. i suppose the leaves' chlorophyll is leaving, and i know that maybe that makes the leaves sad, but it makes me really happy. plus, the countdown to my birthday starts and it rains at night which is the most calming sound in the world.
i really missed you october. twelve months without you is a long time. so i'm just really really glad you're back.

{the heart of life}

pain throws your hope to the ground,
love turns the whole thing around,
no, it won't all go the way it should,
but i know the heart of life is good.

The simple things are the things that mean the most. My life is so crammed with high school, soccer, friends, family, and stuff right now, but I love it. I'm so content with everything the way it is right now. Take some time this week, or whenever you can and cherish the simple things. Do something kind, randomly. It feels good.

It's Been Too Long....

...Since I last posted! It's been a very busy week! I had 3 soccer games, piles of homework, and i had to sleep at some point!
Today I went to a fair, and I only had my little digital camera with me, but I got amazing pictures of the ferris wheel. I love them so much!
