Rachel--Lake Winnipesaukee

Isn't she gorgeous? This is Rachel. I've known her since the day she was born, and she's my best friend (though 3 years younger and living 3 states away). She's an aspiring actress, and loved to show her skills in these pictures!

Cousins! and Brothers...

To say I played a little dress up with stuffed animals and dolls this week would be an understatement.

I played A LOT of dress up this week, with my cousin Audrey.

We also went to a carousel near the water. (Jack actually posed for me!)

And Audrey investigated how it worked above her!

(Will posed too! I'm surprised... brothers can be a pain!)

After a long day of carousels, my cousin Reid feel fast asleep on the way home.

I Heart Faces: Beach Fun!

I enjoy the beach. It's relaxing, and a great place to take pictures! I hate getting sandy though...is anyone with me on that?
Check out more great beach shots at I Heart Faces!

Superprincess

7 years ago today, Ava Florence-Beth Rosemeyer was born. 3 years, 6 months, and 19 days ago, Ava flew to heaven. I never knew Ava, but her story is one I will never forget. Ava was a superprincess. Ava taught me the most valuable lesson I've ever learned. She taught me that life is too short. Life is too short to not spend every minute loving everyone around you. Life is too short to be negative. Be happy every single day you're here. Be happy just to wake up on a sunny morning, and have the whole day; a whole lifetime ahead of you. That is a lesson that can never be taught in school.

Today I was going to have a tea party for Ava with my friend Maddie. It's pouring out. The rain's not going to stop any time soon. So we postponed the tea party. On a sunny day sometime soon, we're going to have a gorgeous little party with tea and pink cupcakes, and pink balloons sent up to Ava. I guess we could do it inside, but it wouldn't be the same. I don't think Ava would really care when we have our tea party, because that's just how she was, she would make the best of a rainy day, and have more fun dancing in the puddles than she would have had at a tea party anyway!

While I'm on the subject I'd like to congratulate Sheye (Ava's mom, and my photographer inspiration) on baby Rosemeyer number 5! Ava sent him or her down to watch over your family from earth, while she's watching from heaven.

Happy Birthday Superprincess.

Friends Are Like Stars...

...Sometimes you can't see them but you know they're always there. I love my friends. I love every single thing about every one of them. They can make me smile when I feel like crying, we can be crazy together, and we all just get each other. I'm so grateful to have people like this in my life. I'm excited because my mom still talks about and is friends with her best friends from high school. And starting high school this year means that when I'm a forty something mom, I'll still remember them. But then again, they are hard to forget. Thanks best friends. ♥

(We're not freaks all the time, I promise. We just dressed up like Lady Gaga.)

A Far Away Place...

...Is where I felt like I was when I was at the beach today! Theres this really cool old stone building at the end of the beach, and I don't know what it was, but it's super cool! I want to do a photoshoot there, it's gorgeous! I was only in Rhode Island, but it certainly feels like some foreign country right?

Oops!

I entered the Paper Mama Photo Challenge this morning, and because I don't read rules carefully enough... my picture probably wouldn't have qualified :P (Unless a neon sign is my "baby"... hey you never know!) But anyway, I decided to leave you with an even cooler orange picture! This one's even unedited! Maybe RAW(e) should make orange an upcoming theme (hint hint)!

Cupcakes!

If you haven't seen or bought the book 'Hello Cupcake', you're missing out. They have the cutest cupcake decorating ideas and I'm in love with it! Today I made the slumber party cupcakes for a sleepover I'm going to tonight!

It's Friday!

My five things for today :)

1. It's the 13th!- Thirteen is my lucky number. For me, it's totally NOT bad luck! The 13th of every month is a good day for me, I kind of like it :)

2. Photoshop CS5- I had PS before, but I downloaded a free trial of the newest version. I LOVE it. I downloaded some amazing actions and they make my pictures gorgeous! Photoshop is seriously something I couldn'y live without, the old version, or the new :)

3. Charlie St. Cloud- If you haven't seen this movie, you should. It's really good! It got bad reviews...but I don't know why! It was so sad, but really really good! I cried almost through the whole thing but I loved it!

4. Ava's Tea Party- You may or may not have heard of Ava Rosemeyer. She's a little girl who died in a tragic accident in 2007 when she was only 3 (To learn more click here). Her mom is Sheye Rosemeyer, and amazing photographer, and such an inspiration to me. Ava's 7th birthday would be coming up, August 22nd. In memory of Ava, her family has planned a worldwide tea party on or around August 22nd. I will be participating in it, and I plan to take tons of pictures! To learn more about having your own party visit: www.avasteaparty.com

5. This quote- "If you're lucky enough to be different, never change" -Taylor Swift
It's so simple, so true, and so perfect. I love it. <3

In A Yellow House: On The Road

Very few days deserve two posts. But I think today does! I found this great link up on Ramblings and Photos and just had to enter. And not tomorrow. I had to enter today!

I took this picture on the way to Martha's Vineyard. I was trying to catch the Bourne Bridge, but we had gotten too far past it, and my camera focused on the lines of the back window. But I really like it that way :)

Go enter your "On the Road" Photos!

...Surprise!

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is "Surprise". I knew the perfect picture! Meghan and Courtney were playing hide and seek and I guess Meghan was quite sure she wouldn't be found behind the bench... but was very surprised when she was! And I was so excited to catch that on camera!

30 Minutes of Fame

My post yesterday sparked some interest about my being on TV twice in one day!

On Friday morning, out local Fox station was doing what they call their "Zip Trip" where they visit different towns and broadcast all morning from the town. My friend, Victoria, and I went down to our town common at 6:30 am to try and get on TV. We were in the background of many shots, and multiple people texted me saying, "I see you on TV!" I screencapped this to show you... I'm the one circled! The second picture is my take on the morning :)

About an hour after I got home from the Zip Trip my friend Julie picked me up to go to the beach. There had been some shark sightings, but we planned to only go in up to our waists. When we were leaving the beach, we saw a news truck in the parking lot, and a guy filming some official taking down the sign that said there had been a shark sighting. We didn't expect to be on camera, but my dad was watching the news that night, and we were on camera! Again, the first picture is the screencapped one from the news, and the second is my take :)

So in the end, we got free t-shirts from the Fox station, free food from the restaurants they interviewed, a fun day at the beach (and survived!) and I was on the morning news and evening news... on two different stations! I'd say the day was a success.

Long Time, No See!

Goodness! It's been so long since I last posted! I've been busy. With picture taking, playing hide and seek, and planning my own little Ava's Tea Party. Oh, and being on the news twice in one day (30 minutes of fame perhaps?)

I got back from Cincinnati on Tuesday. I know, I know, it's Saturday now, and I haven't posted ANY pictures from my trip! The wait is over!

This is Courtney. She's my adorable second cousin, and she's ~almost~ three years old. She was shy for the camera at first, but warmed up really quickly! She loved to play hide and seek! She couldn't quite count by herself, but she would echo me when we counted together. However, when she got into the teens, she knew them pretty well. Until 13. Ex. "...10, 11, 12, 13, 13, 13, 13, 13..." Maybe she's just a tiny Taylor Swift wannabe...

This is Ethan. He's my second cousin as well, but not Courtney's brother. He borrowed his mom's camera, I promised I'd watch him with it outside, and that's when I decided he was a little photographer in training!

Meet Meghan. She's 5, and super sweet! (And Courtney's older sister!) When she saw me with my camera, she immediately said, "Let's go outside and take pictures!" However, when we actually got outside, she was more into playing hide and seek. (Which I must have played for three hours straight!)

This is Karen. You probably recognize her from my Cape Cod pictures! She still is missing her two front teeth, and she's still a ham for the camera! She is somewhat amazed by my camera, and that I bring it everywhere! She said to me, "You even brought your camera here?" Well, yes Karen, I did.

I still have more to cover, in another post, probably tomorrow. I'm looking forward to RAW(e)'s Vintage theme this coming week, and have the perfect picture in mind as well! Happy Saturday everyone!
