aw man, this book. the fault in our stars by john green. i don't want to give anything away so i'll just say, go read it. you will not regret it. i took this self portrait the day i finished and it seemed just fitting for my picture for that day. wow, it's just such a great read.

i heart [furry] faces.

from my past entries to i heart faces when it's animal week, you'd never know i had actual pets. i do, it's just that i always opt to be more original. maybe it'll pay off, maybe it won't, but when i heard it was furry faces week, i had to enter this. i'll even retell the story of how i got this picture!

in june, on our trip to the game reserve in south africa, we didn't see a ton a ton of animals, but we saw lots of zebras. not many this close though. this is no zoom, me leaning over my brother in our tiny rental car just to get my lens out the window. it so paid off. check out the other great entries by clicking the logo below!

sooo, my photo made the top 100 last week (or 2 weeks ago was it?) so that's SUPER cool! and thanks to everyone who voted. this week's theme is hands. my friends and i took this photo while we waited and waited and waited (for 6 hours!) in line for the taylor swift concert in june. it's framed in my room and i adore it. check out more great entries at i heart faces!

I Heart Faces: Pets

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you know that my only model who is always willing is my dog, Riley. And so seeing that the theme for I Heart Faces this week was pets, I thought, "Perfect! I have loads of pictures of Riley!" But then, as I was scrolling through the pictures, I came across this one of the cows from my visit to Vermont in the fall. Something about it just intrigues me so much, so, moo-ve over Riley! (Haha, bad pun there!)

...Surprise!

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is "Surprise". I knew the perfect picture! Meghan and Courtney were playing hide and seek and I guess Meghan was quite sure she wouldn't be found behind the bench... but was very surprised when she was! And I was so excited to catch that on camera!
