there are a few things in life that can make me happy every time, without fail. those are my friends, photo booths, and birthdays. so i decided my sweet sixteen had to incorporate all three. of course, the last one was easy, but figuring out how to include all of my friends and a photo booth was a challenge.
first, we needed to find a classy space, big enough for us, and able to accommodate the noise. we're not a group of quiet people. so we looked, and googled, and searched, and after many places that really didn't quite fit the bill, we found the perfect place. it was a victorian house turned bed and breakfast down the street. vintage and pretty and absolutely perfect.
next the photo booth. ideally, we would have rented one. but $700 for 3 hours was steep for a birthday party. so i made my own. we borrowed a backdrop from a photographer friend, set up lighting, and put my trusty nikon d3000 on a tripod. score.
it was such a hit. the photo booth, my diy mustaches (lovelovelove), the food, the music, everything. i think it's safe to say that everyone had a blast. it was really top-notch. (and i just need to throw in that the pictures will never cease to give me a good laugh!)
andddd... i made the photos into a thank you note at shutterfly! super cool, no?

thanks! i'd say fro the d3000, just play around with it. i've found that be best way i've learned new things from using it is to experiment! and read online tutorials(:

ReplyDeleteWell, I just found your blog. I haven't really had time to read much... considering that it's midnight... but I really like what I've seen of it!
