a portrait of wednesday.

"she wanted to crawl into his pocket and be safe forever." -f. scott fitzgerald

i actually had to double check that today was indeed wednesday when i made the post title. wednesday looks like spring sunsets even though the ground is still blanketed in snow. wednesday looks like unfinished instagram walls. wednesday looks like acoustic taylor swift. wednesday looks like sitting in my bedroom with only one lamp on to enjoy all of the above.

jeremiah was a bullfrog.

so, today i visited a nature place to observe for a biology project that i'm working on, and we're not allowed to use any pictures on the project that aren't our own so it was right up my alley! it turned out to be a gorgeous day and i got some great shots. also-- the header's back! yay! it was a hosting difficulty. also, i figured out how to make each photoset the same width! needless to say, i'm going to bed happy tonight. happy mother's day, and good luck on surviving your monday tomorrow.

p.s. yay or nay on the photosets? i've been using them because my blog storage is full but it'll usually let me upload 3 or 4 photos and pasting the codes from somewhere else is just a pain. thoughts?

so hold my hand, i'll walk with you my dear.

The stairs creak as I sleep,
it's keeping me awake.

sugar high.

we went to a place where they make maple sugar. it's the cutest little place, and it's kind of a tradition to go each spring.

they have maple soft serve for a quarter. that's right folks, twenty-five cents. it's amazingly good.

they boil the sap in this huge machine in a room where the steam goes out the top, but it's still pretty toasty. the windows get all steamy and it smells like heaven.

(you can see the big machine and all the steam in the back!)

they serve mainly waffles and pancakes in the adjoining restaurant. for whatever reason, they brought us pickles to start. i love little places like that. it's just their thing.

two hours was worth the drive.

springtime loving.

so, how do you like the new layout? simple, clean, i think it's perfect! we've finally got full on spring weather here. the skies are a brilliant blue, with wispy clouds scattered. we had a tornado warning last night; a first for me, tornadoes aren't really a new england thing. the daisies are in bloom, it's unbearably hot in school, but still with a cool breeze outside. this reminds me why i love spring.

p.s. my first thought for the title of this post was, "do a dollop, do do a dollop of daisy" :)

marchin on.

I have a new found love for the band OneRepublic. They're incredible! Have a listen to "Marchin On" and "All This Time" I think you'll agree. In other news, the pear trees bloomed! They're gorgeous. Also, I put a camera in the tree. Just an experiment. I think it looks really cool. :)

Rain Rain, Go Away!

You're probably thinking that the title of this post has absolutely nothing to do with these pictures. Well, it doesn't. I took these pictures yesterday, and today it's raining. And I'm really sick of the rain, but they do say April showers bring May flowers, so hopefully that's true! Also, I added a new header, what do you think?

Good For Nothing?

So maybe all the rain isn't good for nothing. It makes the creek behind our house run and look really pretty. Have a great Tuesday!

It's Here!

So maybe I've said spring is here a few times. And everytime, I lied. Because it was freezing yesterday and it felt like winter again. But this time, I swear, it's here! 70 degrees and sunny (okay partly cloudy)...this time it actually is heer. And just in time for spring break. (and the outdoor track meets that won't be so miserable when it's warm!)

4/9/11

And then...

...It became spring! After all my posts about snow, and more snow, and cold, and winter, spring got here. Better late than never, right? It's warm. Things are (almost) blooming, and the sun's out! It's supposed to hit 85 on Monday. I can deal with that. And perfect timing, Carlotta's having a spring photo challenge!

Did I Say Spring?

All that talk of spring last week? I actually just laughed to myself here because it's snowing. Again. After 70 degrees and sunny last Friday! That's New England for you.

I downloaded a light leak set (for free!) and I LOVE it!

when it rains, it pours.

If rain doesn't say spring, I don't know what does! It'll bring the flowers right?

play ball!

Because it's spring (well it feels like it at least!) and the macro lens my mom had for her 35mm camera works on my DSLR (I alwasy thought it wasn't compatible for some reason), I took pictures of baseballs. Outside. And it's warm out there...I didn't wear a jacket! I love spring.
